Today was a blast from the past for me, hanging out at our old stomping ground Mission beach with my sister and mom. It was great to show our kids all our favorite things about this popular San Diego beach. The best part was taking everyone for a ride on our favorite... the tilt-a-whirl. While I the kids seem to be having a blast on the whirly ride, no one was laughing as hard as Barbara, Amy and me.
Cole got to try his first round of laser tag at the Belmont Park, and I think it will not be his last. Ava and Grandma got matching dolphin henna. Asher and Sebastian scaled the rock wall. And Holden won the coveted golden fidget spinner at the basketball game.
It was a great way to end our trip with my family. The boys are already missing their cousins, but we will see them again soon when we meet in Yosemite later this month.
After our family had left, we went on a biking adventure through Imperial Beach, making it all the way to the end of the road with the Tijuana River and the Mexican border in our sights. Asher, whose bike is very much due for an upgrade, had a major crash on the boardwalk and we slowly limped home in the dark. Tomorrow Jedediah lands in San Diego, and we are so excited to enjoy California with him.
